This was my first self-service car wash experience and I will return. I drove through a minefield of insects on my way to Rehoboth and after a stop at Coastal Auto Spa my car looks as good as new. Easy to follow instructions were posted in each bay for newbies like me.
This car wash has been fully refreshed and it’s perfect now. I took my M3CS to get washed and it really helped take all the salt off. It was very cold out, but the water seems to be heated which is a nice touch. James was also very helpful in explaining what everything did. It’s also worth mentioning that they take contactless pay now which makes everything way easier.

Coastal Auto Spa is an absolute game-changer. In the ten years I’ve owned a second home in Delaware, finding a decent self-serve car wash has been impossible. My options were limited to hauling out my pressure washer or driving an hour away—neither ideal. As a passionate auto enthusiast and detailer, I’m meticulous about how I care for my vehicles. My Connecticut setup includes professional-grade pH-balanced chemicals, water purification for my pressure washer, ozone generators, and Rupes ROPs between ceramic coats. Unfortunately, the local options in Delaware have always fallen short. Automated car washes like Mr. Car Wash and Waves, while convenient, inevitably leave swirl marks and light scratches. Enter Coastal Auto Spa, a breath of fresh air for car lovers like me. David has done a phenomenal job transforming a once-neglected lot into a top-tier facility. He’s given the building a much-needed facelift, installed new lighting and cameras for safety, and upgraded to weatherproof payment machines that accept credit cards and mobile payments. The equipment is all brand new and thoughtfully designed. Tight connections prevent leaks, while proper holders ensure brushes don’t touch the ground and gather dirt. A separate wheel and tire brush minimizes brake dust transfer to the body brush, and the boar’s hair brushes are of above-average quality. The cleaning pressure and soap concentration are excellent—far superior to most self-wash facilities I’ve used. You can tell David takes pride in his work; clear labels, QR codes for reporting issues, and his prompt responsiveness to my pre-visit inquiries all reflect his commitment to excellence. An unexpected bonus is what seems to be an extra five minutes added to the timer, possibly a seasonal adjustment for winter. This thoughtful touch is a lifesaver when brushes need a few minutes to unfreeze and for the soap to start flowing. Whatever the reason, it’s greatly appreciated. I was so impressed with Coastal Auto Spa that I returned the same day with another car and plan to bring a third later this week. Leaving feedback is rare for me, but this place deserves the recognition. Once David adds dryers to the facility, I’ll likely stop washing my car in my driveway altogether whenever I’m in the First State. It’s just that good. If you’re a car enthusiast or just looking for a top-notch self-serve wash, Coastal Auto Spa is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
I recently visited Coastal Auto Spa to wash my motorcycle, and it was a fantastic experience. The facility is spotless and clearly well-maintained—it’s obvious the owner takes great pride in the place. Speaking of the owner, I had the pleasure of meeting him, and he’s a genuinely great guy and a fellow car enthusiast. He even offered me a free towel to help dry my bike, which was such a thoughtful touch. I also learned that he started this business just a few months ago, and you can tell he’s poured his heart into making it a top-notch spot for vehicle care. One of the best features is that they accept Apple Pay and Google Pay, making it super convenient. Plus, it’s the only self-service car wash within a 40-minute drive, so it’s a real gem for the area. Highly recommend Coastal Auto Spa if you’re looking for a clean, well-kept self-service car wash with great customer service. I’ll definitely be back!
